CLiPSE will improve understanding of climate science, implications in the SE US, through respectful dialogue, critical thought, and effective communication among leading theologians, scientists, agriculture groups, educators, and culturally diverse communities.
Public conversations are an effective method of bringing a diverse set of people together to learn from each other and work toward a shared understanding. Shared understanding leads to solutions.
To improve knowledge and understanding of the climate system and climate issues, diverse groups of people gain improved ability to think critically together, to examine information carefully, and to clarify assumptions and biases in thinking.
Communicating well on complex topics such as the climate system is a critically important skill that CLiPSE seeks to develop among diverse groups in order to facilitate improved understanding.
